Conversation overheard in Cooperstown 25 years from now…
“Hey, Dad? We just toured the whoooole Hall of Fame and I didn’t see that guy!”
“What guy, son?”
“That guy that could hit so good that got caught doing the illegal baseball stuff but never admitted it.”
“You mean Barry Bonds, the juiced-up homerun hitter?”
“No, not that loser. I mean that other guy that is the career leader in hits (4,256), singles (3,215), at-bats (14,053) and games played (3,562)…the one that is second all-time in doubles, fourth in runs, and collected at least 100 hits in his first 23 seasons…and won several World Series Championships – and a World Series MVP… the one that looked that 3 Stooges guy!”
“OH! You mean Pete Rose!”

Barry Bonds is so stupid. He’ll boycott the Hall of Fame if the record-breaking ball has an asterisk? What kind of threat is that?!

The all-time hits leader isn’t in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, he gambled. Yeah, he agreed to a lifetime ban from the game. What’s that have to do with the Hall of Fame? Put Pete Rose in the Hall list his accomplishments and then cite his gambling and ban.

But Pete Rose is not in the Hall of Fame, so the Hall of Fame is arbitrary and irrelevant. So the fact that Barry Bonds will boycott the Hall of Fame is a completely futile attempt to make someone care about that ball having an asterisk.

Barry – nobody likes you anyway, bra. Pretty sure they don’t really want to see you when they go through the Hall of Fame…oh, and pretty much everyone thinks you cheated. I’m not really sure how you threatening to boycott the Hall of Fame is such a big threat.

And another thing...Why can't you buy a Barry Bonds graphic at Fathead.com?? If you can buy a Dale Jr car or a Pau Gasol or a Homer Simpson - why of all people can't I buy Barry Bonds at fathead.com?! He should be part owner of that place!! Or they should at least pay him royalties and licensing fees for use of the name!!
